Happy Memorial Day!

Okay so I'm a day early!

Home: Dan's mom, Val, and Cody (our nephew) came over today. Cody is spending the night with us and right now he and Dan are playing on the playstation. I think they will be up for quite a few hours. Dan rode him around on the 4 wheeler. He's a happy kid right now - and I think it's cool he wanted to spend the night! Doing more cleaning (it's a never ending job)... got the windows done today. This time next week we should be in Florida! I need to think of something to do to Gary and Carmen (did I tell you we used to always squirt each other with silly string?) We got some new fishies for the tank, finally got Dan a "real" bathing suit and I bought the wrong battery for our digital camera. I may start packing for our vacation tomorrow. Maybe take off work Friday so I can get the grass cut before we leave. Then when we return we have a graduation party to go to.

Work: Not much to write here.... gotta get things done to go away. My boss should be back from his vacation on Tuesday.

Dan: Is a goofball. We are close to getting our "dream" computer. An apple (MAC) so that dan can do his movies and I can do the photo thing! Towson offers free classes/one on one training for the family on using Final Cut Pro and other software. Maybe I could take some more graphic art courses somewhere since we'll have a MAC (that's the kind of computer they use for graphic arts).

Animals

Aren't they cute! Becoming fast friends!

Work: Boss is on vacation.... been trying to catch up but other staff keep needing help with their workloads so I'm helping there. Maybe tomorrow! It's finally calming down just a little. Then I go on vacation!

Home: Got an A in my class! Woo Hoo! I think I'll take a break over the summer, besides they don't offer much in the summer. Maybe I'll look into a continuing ed class (yes mom I stole your continuing ed book - I'll bring it back, promise).

Dan: Came into the house today and told me to follow him. So we proceed down into the woods, over the stream, down the way a wee bit towards some thick brush (thick patch of lillies). I could see a hole with at least 14 eggs (we counted)! Dan told me they were snake eggs and I should have seen the huge snake that came out (he likes to play with snakes by the way). Anyway with my imagination taking off, next thing you know a wild turkey comes flying out of the brush and scared the hell out of me (I screamed but not the high pitch kind, just the startled kind) and proceeded to beat Dan for that nasty trick. Poor turkey went running up the hill side. Hope it comes back so I can get photos of the baby turkeys.

Ta Da!

Work: I had to do a training today. My first (other than for school). I was expecting about 10 people, maybe 20 at the most. But no, there were 40! Of course I was nervous but the HR team was there to coax me. I honestly thought I did pretty bad (was nervous, felt like I jumped around too much, etc.) but the feedback was that I did really good! I even asked my toughest critic who said I did well (and who I knew would give me an honest answer not just to be nice). They said I didn't seem nervous, I spoke with confidence, and kept it to the point. WOW am I surprised. I must be my own worst critic. Now, to get my stomach back to normal.

Home: Everything is turning green. I bought some black spray paint to paint our outdoor chairs and table (hoping to make it look like wrought iron). I'll post a picture when I'm done. Two more weeks before vacation. I am ready and looking forward to seeing our friends.

Dan: Still a nut. I made a few short videos, but I have a feeling I won't be able to put them on this blog. They are pretty silly.

As Requested

Here is a better photo of Pasteur (although the camera focused on the flowers instead of the cat).

We had a small birthday party for Bernie who turned 70 and a mom's day party. I had a nice time. Dan always gets everyone laughing. He's a silly man. That's why I love him so much!

Not too much to write.... School is just about over. Work busy. And other things.
Will write again soon!

May is Here

Work: Still very busy. I have so many projects going on at once and then I keep getting interrupted with other things coming up. Makes it hard to get things done. I did find out some gossip about people in our building (sorry, can't write it here). It's amazing. I never would have thought these things went on. Okay, so maybe things will really calm down in June (doubt it - how about July - after open enrollment).

Home: Wow, things bloomed early this year (like our lilacs). I've been going through a lot of the gardens and pulling weeds. Everything is starting to look really nice. We are waiting until we get back from Florida before we buy any flowers to put outside (that way we won't need to ask anyone to water them). The weeks are flying by and I'll be on vacation soon! Can't wait. Pastuer is as frisky as ever.... he chases me around the house biting my feet. He has a foot fettish (he has to always be touching, laying on, biting, or clawing at your feet). The dog used to run down the driveway when I got home - now it's the cat. Did I tell you about the nice present Pastuer left me.... one morning I opened the front door and there, staring up at me, was a nose and wiskers! That was it! Ewww....

Dan: Has been in training the past two weeks in the evenings. He's always been smart - I know he'll pass with flying colors. We are supposed to be going to his boss's wedding in July in St. Michael's Maryland. Weddings are becoming few and far between.... now it's usually baby stuff. We went to a shrimp/bull roast with Val Friday night... had a nice time (dan and I were laughing at a few ideas for short videos we want to make). I think we drank and ate too much shrimp, since it had to do with dancing shrimp.

More Later!
