What Horseshoe?

Home: My family thinks I have a horse shoe.... Found out from friends last weekend that any points (or tickets) you get in Maryland - the points do not carry over to PA. In other words I really don't have to worry about the ticket. Just go to court to try to get the fine reduced! We haven't had any snow since December. We're thinking of taking a weekend trip somewhere with friends. Still holding out hope snow will come - we've gotten snow as late as March - in fact last year we snowmobiled in March.

Dan: Working in D.C. Nice to have him home. He's been trying to cook dinner lately. Has turned out nice. One night I made something different that turned out pretty good (chicken with onions, olives, hot peppers, bell peppers, s&p, and tad bit of lemon over rice). Had a bite with an olive taste - yummy!

Work: Has been ok. Had a promotion open up. I'm not ready to leave quite yet. My boss told me about it (hesitantly). After I went in and told him I wasn't interested he seemed pretty relieved. And I don't really need the money (money isin't everything anyway). Besides still have a lot to learn in HR and it's been too exciting to leave.

One thing I was thinking on the way home. When we care about people, and if we really care about people, we shouldn't be selfish. We shouldn't think about ourselves but should always put them first (or their needs whatever they may be). When the intentions are good. You can't necessarily spoil them so to speak. Only in situations when something is needed. Figure that one out!

New Year - New Stuff

Here's a first:

My first citation! Ha! Ha!
Not too bad for driving 16 years.
Parts omitted for safety.

(This kind of brings back memories of getting my first deer right near the beginning of the year!)

HOME: Looks like I'm off to a good start to 2006! Oh well. The nice police officer didn't even give me a warning (that doesn't seem to be fair)! My luck, I'll go to court and get a judge having a bad day and get the points! Ughh. Guess we'll see. Remember we have squirrels in our rafters..... well Dan keeps running out the door with his gun to kill the other one that is too smart to go into the live trap - but it's still too smart and runs as soon as it hears the door. I need to take a picture. It sits right out front our picture window on a tree limb eating every morning tantalizing Dan. The other day he was running down the yard in his underwear chasing it with the gun..... I wonder what the neighbors must think?

Time for me to register for the Spring semester. I'm only taking one course this time. Starts early February and an on-line course again - which works out nicely! We have dial-up at home though which is slow, may need to look into something better.

WORK: I. R. brought me this queer wind up dog thing someone left on her desk... come to find out someone else put it on her desk and it is C. K.s. I almost threw the thing away but decided to write a ransom note instead. Something to the effect of bring in angel food cake and strawberries and brownies tomorrow or the dog gets hung.... There is a response on the note but I don't have the nerve to look yet or I'll give myself away - must check on the way out!

DAN: Back from Gettysburg - After a year and a half the job is complete. He may need to return but only for a night or two here or there. Soon it will be off to the next project. Just need to readjust to our old routine. I need to get used to getting up early again too - got spoiled on that one.

More Later!

Catching Up After the Holidays

Where to Start?

New Year's Resolution: Haven't made one yet.

Holidays at Mom's: Had a very nice holiday! On my side, hung out at mom's and Bill was able to make it this year! It was nice to have the whole gang together. Had a great time.

Holiday's at Dans: On dan's side, same thing. I love seeing the kids and now I have a cold! I'm vowing next year not to kiss any sick family members! We watched old 8mm films of dan and his brothers and sister's growing up - that was fun to watch. Dan's mom gave Dan custody of the films and projector. I guess we will need to check into getting them made into a DVD. Tyler (who is on my lap getting his feet rubbed and fell asleep) declared "Grandmom has an ugly tree!" We all agreed so here is a picture of the ugliest Christmas Tree (that was only 3 ft tall).

Holidays at Work: I always have leave I have to use or lose at the end of the year. After taking a week off (except for Thursday) I still lost leave! Seems like the year has started off with a bang - it's been pretty busy so far. Try to go to a few work parties (I like to eat) and see old and current coworkers. Here are just a few pics.

New Years Eve: Went over a friends house, Kim and Justin. Camera battery died early so I didn't get a lot of shots. The one of Dan and I looks funny (they always do when you try to hold the camera out) and Dan is toasted! I was the designated driver so no drinks for me (not that I drink a lot anyway)! Definately an interesting group of people - wouldn't have it any other way - they are very welcoming of new people.

There! Now you are just about caught up!
